Not Like Fools

1 Kings 33: 4-5

Solomon pleased the Lord when he asked for discerning
He desired wisdom, not knowledge, from learning
And God made him different, from men before and after.

Then the Lord said, “If you walk in My ways, I’ll give you
Riches, and honor, and lengthen your days,” because
The wisdom of the world is merely cause for laughter.

Not like fools who live for themselves
We need to trust in God instead of books on shelves
And pray for understanding of what is right and wrong.

So live in restoration, transformed by renewing
Your mind — and all the time while doing
What God deems right, and singing His song

And pray for understanding of what it right and wrong.
