From the start of this song by recording artist Kip Fox, there is the rhythm of a heartbeat. Words and music are in uncommon balance, telling of the first garden and of the man who walked there: the Father “laid his creature down to sleep…opened his side, to make a bride..”
Then, “In another garden, God saw His own; once again He found a man alone…but He would not help this time.”
Instead, He made us, the Church, to be the bride of Christ. Perfect love.
I hope you have time to listen and think about it.
“For thy maker is thine husband, the LORD of hosts is his name, and thy redeemer the holy one of Israel…” Isaiah 54: 5
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” Ephesisans 5: 25
“…I will show thee the lamb’s bride…” Revelation 21: 9
